Superheroes OF TOMORROW

The “Superheroes of Tomorrow” program will provide students grades 3-12 with exposure to emotional intelligence, which data has proven to better manage stress and reduce the chance for students to become depressed and experience negative risky behaviors. The Superheroes of Tomorrow’s supplemental curriculum ranges from table & social etiquette, social & emotional learning support, bullying & empathy, yoga, resilience, anxiety and stress management, teambuilding, goal setting and leadership development.

According to Mahoney, et. al (2018) social-emotional programs (SEL) programs appear to have as great a long-term impact on academic growth as has been found for programs designed specifically to support academic learning. Thus, there is an immediate need for life skills and social-emotional or emotional intelligence learning to align with their academic learning, and the Superheroes of Tomorrow provides the exact co-curricular programming.

The goals of this program are to equip participants with culturally relevant and accessible tools to navigate systemic barriers and cultivate resilience, complimenting their core-curricula academics. Outcomes of the program include, introducing or increasing: self-regulation, self-awareness, problem solving, goal setting, self-esteem, public speaking & presentation, teambuilding & collaborative learning, cultural diversity & inclusion; to name a few.
